Back to Basics

Power Banks come in different shapes and sizes; but there are probably three distinguished types. The first is a small lipstick-style device popular with the ladies, this might charge your phone only once and cost you literally what you pay for a lipstick.

The second is a compact unit with a mAh rating of between 5,000 and 10,000 mAh, this can offer you 2 or 3 full charges. For those who are unfamiliar with electronic jargons, the mAh figure tells us the total capacity of the batteries. In other words, the more mAh the Power Bank has, the larger the energy is. To give an example, iPhone 6 Plus has a battery capacity of 2915mAh so if you want to have it fully charged, you should have a Power Bank with more mAh than your phone’s capacity.

The third is a high-capacity device for those diagnosed with “nomophobia”(short for no-mobile-phone phobia), this can keep you going for days on end away from mains power. While there are Power Banks in the market that cater to charging laptops, MOST Power Banks do not have the capacity.

For most of you looking for a Power Bank, convenience is also an important factor. It should be as portable as a lipstick but do much more than charging your phone only once.

Recently, we introduced our latest product on our webshop: the PowerBank |Slim|. Weighing only 125 grams and at 8mm thick, this is probably the slimmest Power Bank in the world. It comes with a capacity of 5000mAh which means you can fully recharge your average smartphone up to 1.5 times. Probably a feature that a lipstick wouldn’t have: you can check how much charge is left just by shaking the PowerBank; the battery level will be indicated by three different colours.
