PowerCube Related Questions
How many PowerCubes can be combined?
In theory, the PowerCube can be extended infinitely, as long as the devices you connect do not draw more than the rating specified on the product. However, we recommend you to attach no more than two PowerCubes to one mounted PowerCube.
What are the restrictions with PowerCube Originals in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany?
There are 'ribbed' sides of the plug on the PowerCube Original models, which may prevent it from being plugged into some wall sockets or some power sockets. These ribs were added to meet the regulations of the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. It is still safe to use as long as total power usage is not exceeding the current rating of 4000watts = 16A x 250V. These PowerCubes are guaranteed to be compatible with PowerCube Extendeds and Allocacoc's PowerStrips.
Are PowerCubes equipped with surge protector?
No, PowerCubes are not equipped with surge protector by default but it's still safe to use. If it is (depends per model/country), it will be indicated on the packaging.
Is the PowerCube safe to use with a power-hungry home appliances such as a microwave?
Of course, the PowerCube is as safe as any other power outlets as long as you don't overload it by plugging in multiple appliances that altogether exceeding the current rating of 4000watts = 16A x 250V. Also, it is fully grounded, and all sockets come with child-proof mechanism.
My PowerCube ReWirable stopped working in a sudden! What happened?
Most likely your fuse is burned. This is to avoid power outage in case of current overload. Simply change the fuse located behind the cube (where the IEC port is) and it should work normally again.
You can use a 20mm 6A 250V slow blow ceramic fuse (European standard). For UK PowerCubes, make sure it is a 13A fuse that meets British Standard BS 1362.
If it still doesn't work, please contact support@allocacoc.com
The plug won't go in the PowerCube‘s socket! Is it broken?
No, it is not broken. The child lock/shutters need to slide open first. If you find it difficult to plug in, try 'wiggling' the plug left and right, it will push the shutters sideway and open up.
Does the PowerCube Remote work through obstacles and walls?
The PowerCube Remote works through obstacles and 1 layer of wall, with a maximum distance of 10m.
How much stand-by power is consumed by the PowerCube Remote?
The receiver in the PowerCube Remote uses approximately 0.15W in standby mode.
Which type of screws should I use to fix the mounting dock for PowerCube Extended?
This depends on the type of surface (e.g. for non-compressed solid wood, you can use wood screws 3.0 x 16mm). Please advise your local hardware store which screws to use for your surface.
